Gastroenterolgy
Loc T. Le, M.D.
Dr. Loc T. Le received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine.
Loc T. Le, MD has been elected as Chairperson of the 2012-2014 National Task Force on Hepatitis B: Focus on Asian and Pacific Islander Americans. He is a former Chairman of the Division of Gastroenterology and Director of Endoscopy at Harbor Hospital of Baltimore (July 1998-July 2004).
Currently, he is a clinician and senior partner at Woodholme Gastroenterology Associates. He is also an instructor in Medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and a faculty member of the Trinity School of Medicine (in the Caribbean). He received the Golden Apple “Best Teacher of Year” Awards twice, in 1996 and 1998.

Nguyen K. Nguyen, Ph.D.
Dr. Nguyen K. Nguyen serves as the Director of the American Academy of Microbiology, a
scientific think tank at the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) since 2019. Before joining ASM, Dr. Nguyen was the Associate Director for Science & Practice Programs at the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) to bring together clinical laboratory scientists to pioneer new scientific programs. He also spent two years as Partnership Development Manager at the Frederick National Lab for Cancer Research to build scientific partnerships and support
collaboration between the Lab’s scientists and domestic and international partners.
In 2007, Dr. Nguyen co-founded the Viet Nam Medical Assistance Program (VNMAP), a non-
profit organization based in Montgomery County that provides medical assistance to the Vietnamese community in the County & operates medical missions to Vietnam. He was the founding President from 2007-2013 and continued to serve on the Board of Directors of VNMAP until 2020. Currently, Dr. Nguyen serves as the Chair of the Asian American Health Initiative (AAHI) Steering Committee. In this role, he represents the Asian American community to advise the program, the Montgomery County Health & Human Services Department, and the
County Council on issues related to Asian American health.
Dr. Nguyen received his Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Medicine from the Johns Hopkins
School of Medicine, his MBA from the University of Maryland Global Campus, and his B.S. degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore
County (UMBC).

Director of Kai Prep Institute
Aimee Kim
Aimee is an educator with over a decade of experience supporting students across middle school, high school, and college. Her work centers on helping students build clarity, confidence, and a sense of direction as they navigate high-stakes decisions about their education and future paths.
Aimee currently serves as the Assistant Director of Academic Advising at Johns Hopkins University, where she works closely with pre-health and high-achieving students across a wide range of majors. In parallel, Aimee is the Director of Kai Prep, where she mentors students through SAT preparation and the college admissions process with an emphasis on thoughtful planning and individualized support. Earlier in her career, she taught middle and high school mathematics in Baltimore City Public Schools.
Across her roles, Aimee is especially drawn to mentorship that goes beyond academics. She values helping students make sense of uncertainty, develop self-advocacy skills, and feel supported both practically and emotionally as they define their own pathways forward. Fluent in English, Korean, and Mandarin Chinese, Aimee enjoys building trust with students and families by communicating in the language they feel most comfortable using. Outside of work, Aimee enjoys exploring local parks and community events with her husband and their two daughters.

Orthodontist
Phu T. Le, D.D.S.
Dr. Phu Le is a board-certified orthodontist who brings more than two decades of experience
creating confident, healthy smiles in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. He graduated with honors from Union College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology before earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. He went on to complete a two-year General Practice Residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, where he served as Chief Resident and received advanced training in implant surgery and complex dentofacial trauma. Dr. Le was then selected into the highly competitive Albert Einstein Orthodontic Residency Program, where he earned his specialty certification in orthodontics.
Blending a lifelong passion for the visual arts with a strong scientific foundation, Dr. Le approaches orthodontics as both a precise science and a creative craft. His research has been published in leading journals, including the American Journal of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics and the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics. He is proud to be a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists and its regional affiliates.
Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Le enjoys photography, drawing, martial arts, and spending time with his wife and three children in the Tysons Corner area. A 2nd-degree black belt in Taekwondo and bronze medalist in the 1987 Junior Olympics, he continues to pursue Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Shaolin Kung Fu — always bringing the same dedication, curiosity, and energy to his personal passions as he does to caring for for his patients.
