Vinh Le
Vinh Le is a high school researcher and community leader whose work explores the erasure of South Vietnamese voices in Vietnam War films and the importance of cultural representation. He co-founded the Circle of Progress to foster mentorship between his peers and university students, promoting shared growth, leadership, and connection across generations.
Langley High School
Milan Le
Milan Le is a current senior at Langley High school, looking to pursue a career in the healthcare field. She has experience starting clubs at her school, being an EMT, volunteering in the community, shadowing, and taking AP classes. In her free time, she enjoys going to the gym, cooking, crocheting, and spending time with friends and family. She looking forward to connecting students with mentors and using my experience to help in any way she can!
Glenelg Country School
Emmanuel "Manny" Samson
Manny Samson is a junior at Glenelg Country School. He excels in math, chemistry and physics
and maintains a challenging course load focused on Honors and AP-level classes. He is
focused on finding an undergraduate program which can allow him to bridge his love in
mathematics, chemistry, and physics.
He is an invited member of the Honor’s Council and is deeply committed to upholding the
academic and ethical standards of his school community. He is an active participant in both the
STEM club and the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). This past year, he discovered
a refreshing and unexpected creative outlet in Stagecraft where he identified a genuine passion
for the technical side of theater, finding it incredibly rewarding to apply his problem-solving skills
to building intricate sets and props for school musicals, often volunteering his time outside of
school hours.
He has been a dedicated member of Scouts BSA since elementary school, taking on various
leadership roles and giving back through volunteer work. Aside from academics, he is an avid
tennis player, competing for the Glenelg team. When he is not involved in school activities or on
the tennis court, he enjoys reading comic books, particularly Manga and enjoys testing his mind
with puzzle games like Wordle and Strands.
He is excited to be involved with the Circle of Progress and to facilitate mentorship opportunities
for his peers and younger students to promote collective growth.

Catherine Nguyen
Catherine is a sophomore at Virginia Commonwealth University where she studies Biology and Bioinformatics. She co-founded this organization due to her desire to help other first-generation students like herself.
